Life oh life...

pulau penang
As I was walking down the street in the downtown area of Penang, somewhere near the Kimberley Street if I'm not mistaken, I saw this uncle was pushing his 3 wheels bicycle which filled with loads of vegetables on it. I think he was going to somewhere nearby to sell off the vege, or perhaps he was on his way back home? I have no idea. All I can see was the blood-like stains on his pants. Have you noticed that? Was it a real blood stains, I wondered.

Life hasn't been easy. There's a saying that goes, "The rich become richer, the poor become poorer." Even the best developed country has people who're struggling on their living everyday. Don't you think so?

I think the photo somewhat representing what I am saying about. Notice the "Rolex"? Well, link it with the vege-selling man and you will get the picture.

I suppose he has cut himself or it looks like that. Yes, the rich buy a Rolex and a nice home and car and the poor have a different kind of wealth. Usually family and friends. Having been poor, I know how hard it is to have nothing and no money and you have to grow everything you eat or you don't eat. I was that poor once. I just didn't know I was poor.

Very nice capture and I like your narrative a lot. I agree with the saying 'the rich become richer and the poor become poorer' but as Mr. Abe said, usually the poor have more family and friends and I'm sure they're happy too in their own way.

I think this looks like it would be hard. That thing looks heavy to push around.

Hi Emily, I hope you are feeling a bit better now :).

It does look like blood stains but I think those pants are just tie-dyed.

Life can be very tough, indeed...

(You asked me about Boston, the song, remember? Yes, I like it a lot, so much so that I put a link to the video on my blog. :)

Great photo composition! The man pushing the cart contrasts so vastly with the Rolex sign and what it symbolizes.

Thanks for visiting my NorthBayPhoto blog.

I like the contrast. It brings life to reality

The poorer are happy with what they have, not like the richer people. They'll never have enough and once they want more than what they have already have, bloodshed will be involved in the process which is not a good thing. It's rare to find a wealthy person who is very thankful for what God has given them.

It does look like bloodstains - so there is the mystery of that. The Rolex sign is very good luck to be there for this shot.
I hope that you feel better.

Agree with what you mentioned.
It's the same too in Singapore.

Your narrative is over the photo. Unfortunately yes, everywhere there are these sort of contradictions. The most important thing in my opinion is to notice thata as you did and work a bit against them.

Thanks for the comments, everyone! :) I agree with most of you, that poorer may happy with what they have, not like the richer people; they have the different kinds of wealth which are the family and friends, as example. Life hasn't been easy so that we could learn from it and cherish the every moment that we have with our loved ones. Money isn't everything; love is. :)

Cheers!! =)
