Japanese buffet, anyone??

japanese buffet shogun

This is Shogun, a japanase buffet restaurant in One Utama Shopping Centre. I've been there for dinner to celebrate my friend's birthday. The ambience of Shogun is pretty nice and the food is certainly splendid. The foods have been divided into several section; the sushi bar, the teppanyaki section, the fried foods section, the oh-so-yummy soup section, the drinks section and the desserts section. Pretty many isn't it? Well, it costs RM 52++ per person, which I think it's quite reasonable. Too bad I only had an oyster with cheesy topping [my favorite!!] as only one oyster will be given to each customer. Oh that's alright because there are plenty of grilled seafood to be choosing from! Forget about the calories! Let's enjoy the food!

So what do you like to eat specifically when you're having a buffet?

Same as Ming, I'd over dose on sushi at Shogun. The food on that plate looks fantastic.

We don't go to buffets very often but there's an Indian restaurant here that puts on a great spread, so every now and then we'll go there and OD on their wonderful curries.

Ming: I would love to OD on sushi but the "rice" of the sushi will cause me bloated even faster lol. So I decided to overdose on Sashimi rather than sushi. So I could eat even more! :P I'd been eating every kinds of sashimi. Mind you, it's heavenly!! :P

Fenix: Idian makes wonderful curries. I LOVE the curry mutton to death. You should try the Roti Canai which served with curry or dhaal.

I've never had sushi :)
A friend of mine is crazy about it - but also quite a snob about his knowledge of it.
I generally just have "chinese" food at a buffet.
I'm dying for some now!

Seafood, followed by seafood, and finishing with , yes, more seafood! My favourite buffet food for sure!

The sushi, the oysters, the egg rolls, all very tempting, but I'm really into soups these days. It all started with a favorite Vietnamese restaurant in my last town.

I have never had sushi :-(( The only buffets I have been to were in the US. I generally had vegetables and just a little meat.

I like your photos. This is so different from what I am accustomed to..... I am happy to learn about your country.

Really extra nice photography. I am impressed with the food.

I like buffets but it would be better for me with roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy.

Difficult decision; I do enjoy seasame chicken, pho soup, anything with curry. But I would have to say; Lead me to the Sushi bar for tuna, eel, and yellow fin!
