The Great Mighty

This picture was taken in Batu Cave, situated in Gombak district, at the north of Kuala Lumpur. It has a series of caves and cave temples. Well, as you can see from this picture, it is the 42.7m high statue of Lord Murugan which was just unveiled last year. It's certainly a must-visit place when you're visiting KL. As I mentioned above, there are cave temples and caves on the limestone hill. In order to get up there, you have to climb exacly 272 steps to access the temple and take a glance over the caves. For your information, Batu Cave serves as the central of Hindu community's yearly celebration - Thaipusam festival. I've been there for duty as a member of Red Crescent Society (known as Red Cross in other countries) for Thaipusam festival 3 months ago. Awesome is what I can say about the festival. The view in the cave is really nice too. This picture was taken after Thaipusam festival, so basically there weren't much people walking up the stairs.

What a beautiful statue! The caves sound like a wonderful place to visit.
Thank you so much for visiting my site! I'm glad you like the street photo. The most fun about it is that it is not a street, really, it is inside a building. But the brick floor that you can see is just how the streets outside in that area are.

That is one amazing statue. Do you know what it is made from? It's beautifully sculpted.
Thanks for the information and for visiting me.

It is a very good looking statue. Is it limestone?

Some people might not know that rape is not just something unique to the human animal. There are ducks just as guilty—my post today.

Totally cool photo. I remember going to the Batu Caves 20 plus years ago when I was a kid.

I am planning to go to KL in July so hopefully, I can visit the Batu Caves again.

Angela: It's beautiful isn't it? Well I don't know what is it made from.. I think it just painted by gold paint, that's all.

Abraham: No it's not a limestone.. What I meant by limestone hill was the cave.. The cave is made by limestone. Yea, I've seen the duck and it's really nice.

Ming: If you're coming to KL, you should pay there a visit there again! I bet it surely has changed.. :p
